Yeah I just looked at some of the old news stuff, and saw the tourney you guys had started but then not proceeded with because not enough people were active and ready to participate, so I figure now is as good as any time to organise another one, make it look good etc, this way some of us who havent played one another 1v1 (rofl ive played one game v eulogy who was off race) get to experience that, we might also get some nice replays out of it, and maybe if one of the applicants wins they get into the team roster or something xD. Anyways let me know what you think, or maybe just make the tourney if you think its not a bad idea :D

I have actually started thinking about this a few days ago, especially with the recent activity and hits proxiteam has been getting :). You will see a newspost up shortly within the next couple days.

Hey if you do make a tourny please please make it on the weekends so its easier for people to play. Also, if possible, make it at an earlier time cause alot of the current tournaments in SEA are base on singapores time so it ends at like 1 in the morning.

Anyways YAY TOURNY
Pew!

just a thought. Anyone interested in a league instead of tourney? By this i mean actually have a group and people play everyone and then maybe top 4 play sudden death. It's just if this is for the purpose of bringing together people having everyone play each other will help in that regard.

Actually league does sound like a pretty good idea. And maybe some methodology about how people become members rather than applicants, and how they stay members? Just throwing it out there

Nah applicants is good.
Leagues are harder to run than tournaments IMO, maybe if we get a solid couple weekends of good tourneys we should consider a league.

The whole thing of "host a tournament and winner gets in" is something that I can't do, because I don't have the authority to say who gets in the clan and who doesn't. I wouldn't mind organizing a tournament but if you guys want to do where the winner gets into the clan, you need to ask for Lucky/Dwains permission for that as he is the leader of the prOxi crew.

As for the league, I'll think about it. Leagues require a lot of work and I am a full time uni student so I can't dedicate 100% of my time to the league. Maybe if I get help from 2 people we can make it happen, but then again why make a league, there's only like 10 of us at the most. Just this week we had a KOTH type of deal where a lot of people got to play with each other and practice.

Idk, but if you guys REALLY want the league I can make it happen and organize it with the help of 1 or 2 people, I just a see monthly tournament more probable and reasonable than a league.

Also on a sidenote, if you guys want to make a tournament where the winner gets into the clan, then it would make sense to do a tournament with the people under the applicant list. But idk about you guys, but I have only seen 4 people out of the whole list that is there. So yeah.

Discuss this though guys, and I'll be reading as well. :) this is good.

I think this sounds OK to me. But it will be on a case-by-case assessment. If someone wins and they've only just joined the applicants, it's not going to happen. But if it's someone I feel has shown interest and been around at least for awhile then they will probably be recruited.

Just mention in the news post that I will be head-hunting players to draft :)

Oh and I also support the preference of a tournament over a league. Not that I dislike a league, it's just that we're more equipped for a tournament.

I do plan to re-introduce the KotH but I really want to integrate it nicely with the website so I just need to get around to doing the development work for that.

I'll put my hand up to help run either. I currently run a 12 man league between some friends and presumably it's easy enough to use that template i.e. spreadsheets and stuff to run a tourney or league.

Spreadsheets? Ew. It's 2011. Use something like Challonge

Ahh nice. Didn't know of such a thing. Haven't had the time to investigate it much. Does it do league style groups and things as well? Would make my life a lot easier.

Obviously things like random map selection still needed but it looks like somethin that I can use.

Time and Day is always a big factor, so I'm in as long as I can make it :/
I'm strong but I'm wild, they say I drink too much/ The only problem that I have is that I think too much.

People maybe should have 24 hours to get their game(s) done (best of 3 till finals, best of 5 in finals?) (pick the opening maps and provide decent map pools for loser to pick from? please no shit maps)

The usual map pool for our tournaments include steppes of war, blistering sand, jungle basin and kulas ravine. You better start practising on those maps.
