Tournament: "Tomorrow We Dine In Hell" Signup

Okay well I guess there was some misunderstanding about how I wanted this to be setup. I think some of you got the impression it was a tournament; my original idea was more of a Showmatch, kind of like we used to in BW with King of the Hill. However, after talking about it with our newly found friend Yelyah(cheers mate), I decided a tournament will be a better idea :). More people can participate, more fun, and more love, more gayness to share around.

So, with all that being said, I decided a date and time (if you cannot be there on the given date and time, read the note at the bottom of the post).




If you can make this date and time, just post on this thread saying you will participate and acknowledge if you don't show up you will be shipped to maareeks closet for 'discrete punishment'.

Me and Yelyah will be organizing this and will make the brackets on Thursday, 2 days before the tournament begins.

NOTE: If you cannot make this time, say you can't, and if there is a majority rule of people who can't make the tournament, I'll change the date to better accommodate everyone. I will keep tally and keep updating this post for those who can and can't make it.

Hey guys, after discussing with Bobotastic, here are the general rules for the tournament.(either single or double elimination format will used depending on the number of people)

All rounds prior to the Semi-finals and Finals will be a Bo1, Semi-finals will be a Bo3 and Finals will be a Bo5

Game settings
[*]Game Mode: Melee
[*]Game Speed: Fastest

Map pool
[*]Blistering Sands
[*]Scrap Station
[*]Steppes of War
[*]Lost Temple
[*]Metalopolis
[*]Xel'Naga Caverns
[*]Delta Quadrant


Bo1 Format
The predetermined maps for Bo1 is either Metalopolis or Blistering Sands(You guys can include a vote for which map you prefer if you are signing up)

Bo3 and Bo5 Format
[*]Each Player will take turns voting maps off the list until the desired amount of maps has been reached; three (3) for a Bo3 and five (5) for a Bo5.
[*]Each player will then take turns in voting maps down until there is 1 map left. This map will be the starting map.
[*]At the end of each map, the loser will chose the next map to play. This will happen until a player reaches a majority of wins where the match winner will be declared

This is true. Unfortunately for you, we won't be requiring your opponents to smash in part of their skull to drop to your level. Fortunately for you, your "condition" probably keeps you from understanding what I just said. ;p

Just as a heads up: it's doubtful I'll be able to make it to partcipate. That's probably for the best, though, since I still think you guys want me to cast the replays later (just the finals?) and it'd be kinda gay if I owned you all and then casted the games. ;)~

That's the thing. I was trying to make it work with you maar....how late can you actually stay up? Because we can do it earlier to include you, it all depends if the Aussies don't mind doing it earlier. Maybe 7pm pacific standard time, 10pm est, and 12pm Sydney time?

Tentative for now, I'll see if I can bring my comp back to my parents place (spending the weekend there for thanksgiving).


Otherwise, format looks good, maar can first do commentaries on the finals, then semis, working his way down (as he's used to) might be overkill to cast them all though.
I'd also like to suggest something somewhat unconventional ; depending how many people we end up getting and how much time everyone has, I think we should all obs eachothers games instead of playing them round by round type of thing. I think the original goal was for all of us to get together and chat up etc like the good old times while watching eachother play.
Downfall is that you see your opponents playstyle, but meh we'll have to learn eachothers playstyles eventually anyways.

I'm so glad that your mom was pleased enough with my work to tell you about it!

I definitely like the idea of everybody obsing, though I guess it'll kinda depend on how long it goes. Maybe we can just aim to get the early rounds knocked out asap so everybody can get in on the semis/finals.
