G'day gentlemen! It has been almost a year since I've been able to log into the forums, but thankfully Lord Dwain has rectified the situation.
The point: after 5 years of my old Asus comp, I have finally bought myself a new and shiny laptop.
HP Pavilion dv7 7008TX -
http://www.cnet.com.au/hp-pavilion-dv7-7008tx-339340803.htmPretty happy with it so far in that, you know, it works and stuff. I haven't played any games or done anything worth mentioning on it yet. I ended up spending just under $1500 on it, then got an extra 2 yrs warranty for another $200. I was putting off buying one for as long as I could...my older laptop was pretty much on the out due to abuse of it's graphics processing abilities (or lack thereof) whilst playing 4v4 SC2 games :D or something like that.
Still running Windows 7 HP. I have a question for you all: should I go to Windows 8? Is it worth it? On the promo, it will only cost me $15, but still, I am very cautious to jump on a new OS given how many 'teething' problems Windows have had in the past with their work.
Also (and a very important one), this lappy has a 32gb SSD (solid-state drive). Can someone kindly (please and thank you) explain to me exactly what this will mean for my performance, and how to get the most out of it? I've tried to read as much as I can, but I've been out of the game for a while now :P
So, all said and done, I now have a sweet machine to play HotS with once it comes out, so you all better be prepared for some serious counts of:
- cheese
- helion abuse
- bm
- skype lulz
- empty pizza boxes
- rage quits
Much <3 everyone :D
