So Rohan (ProHan), Patrick (kBBQtaP) and I (Pioneer) attended the Elysium Tournament at Elysium Internet Cafe, Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. The following will be my opinion and overview of the tournament, keep in mind its generally negative and rageworthy so if you don't want to read rage threads, gtfo while you still can.

Intro:

Pat and I arrived 30minutes late as we had to catch a train from the Gold Coast to Brisbane This is because I was hungover so we got delayed, as I was still too drunk in the morning to drive to the train station (lol). So we get there and I go to sign in, and the nub organiser tells me they had given my spot away to some other nub. Lets just say I intimidated the fuck out of him with my bulk and general alpha-male hardcore aggression. He was very apologetic, and I am fairly certain my alpha-hormones made him want to go gay for me (can you really blame him?).

Overall, this was, at the very least, kind of fucking queer. I had a pool of no better than Plat players, and the general quality of the players, was extremely low. So Pat and I went and had pub-grub and a couple of pints, which in all honesty, was probably a better investment of time. When we got back ProHan still didn't know when he was playing, or who the fuck he was supposed to play. With this we can conclude that the organisers are fucking idiots. Anyway, we managed to get a couple of PC's and played some team games (probably the highest quality games of the tournament) and generally owned nubs. Turns out organisation relied on the one of the staff calling groups to the front, and gave them a piece of paper with their opponents and order of opponents.... Just wow.

Pool Play:

Prohan went 2-1 in his group, and made it into the second round. He supposedly only lost 1 because he fucked up, and not anything to do with the other dudes skill. A believable sentiment. The quality of his opponents was generally poor, and Pat and I managed to watch his final game, where he did a sick dark templar build on Shakuras, into archon as he pushed. He did a substantial amount of damage to this nub terran opponent and expanded behind the push. He meta-gamed the terran into making blind vikings, and when he showed up with no colo for the first attack, I am pretty sure he over reacted the opposite way (FYI the few vikings he had at this point got sniped). At this point he went double robo (all the way) and smashed him with colo. It wasn't close at any point during the game, but it might have seemed closer to a less knowledgeable bystander. I think it was indicative of the quality of this terran that he made 6 ghosts, and only emped once (they were all full energy, and had PLENTY of time to throw down across the whole army).

Finals:

I don't know the specifics, except that ProHan encountered the "top seed" and lost. Supposedly he was shit, and prohan raged and stormed out, refusing to play the losers bracket. At this point Pat and I had already left, so we couldn't give him some coaching to go back and stomp some nubs. Either way, I am sure he will elaborate.

Closing:

Overall the tournament was badly organised, had really shitty PC's and equipment, and very much amateurish. There was no communication between the staff and the players, and could have been done more efficiently, and on that point, it probably would have worked better as an online tournmanet. They had no featured matches, no casting, and definitely didn't have a projector to at least show off some of the better games.

It was however good to meet Prohan, and check out the Brisbane scene. Notably Moonglade didn't make an appearance, which is a real shame, as he would have been one of the very few people worth meeting there. Otherwise, the only true positive this venue had for it was that the actual cafe was quite large, but unfortunately, the space was poorly utilised.

Sounds shitty bro.

Cool to hear that a few proxiteamers met up though, regardless of the outcome. ProHan definitely should've played out the elimination bracket, sounds like he could've fought his way back to a grand final win if people are as shit as you made them sound.

Keep an eye out for some LANs at other places, I guess some are good and some are bad ;)

WORST run tournament I have ever fucking been too.
Regarding my loss to the top seed. I played like an absolute piece of piss.
He was Protoss, I was Protoss... I fucking HATE PvP... Enough said.
But seriously, I could not get used to the shitty computer setup they had and there was 12 guys behind me somewhat "expecting" me to knock this guy out... So I cracked under the pressure. Then when I realised I had lost the second game (a bo3) I was so immensely filled with rage about pretty much everything to do with the tournament that I just packed my shit up and left.

And, no, I wouldn't have made it to the Grand Final... Semi Finals MAYBE, but there was 2 really skilled players who I wouldn't have been able to beat due to them both being Protoss, and PvP being my worst matchup.

All-in-all, the only good thing about that tournament was being able to meet and hang-out with Pat and Drae, Legends :D

Anyway, there is a Lansmash SC2 tourney in about 2 weeks. Lansmash have never ever let me down for exceptionally well run and organized tournaments. Thankfully they are having an SC2 tournament, so hopefully Pat and Drae and anyone else can come to that :D
I pwn n00bz, and pros too.

Dude, PvP is simple. The other guy can make the same stuff you can, so just scout him better, macro better, micro better and you win.
TLDR
