Proxiteam Open Tournament

More of an inquiry than a request...


Would you guys be interested in partaking in an Open Tournament (different from your tournament of champions) in which anyone, not just those in prOxi, can qualify for the bracket.
Basically, how it would work is:
People who are interested sign up (make a list and any of us can add to it, should we have some friends who wish to partake)
Instead of spending days doing a qualifier, Diamond and above players on the list will be chucked into a double-elimination bracket. Those under diamond can prove themselves worthy by versing appointed prOxiteam members in a 1v1, and they can judge their skill and deem them worthy or not from that.
Each match will be a best of 3, with the semi-finals and finals being a best of 5.
As many games as possible will be casted, and VODs available. If your game is not casted, I will make it so you can request for them to be casted from your replays.

As it may draw a lot of players I expect this tournament to take, at the very least, a week. In order to cater for the fact that some people may not show or ever be online, match-ups will have a dead-line of 3 days to be completed. The player who is not available on the dead-line or has not been available in several instances where the other player has been, will be eliminated OR thrown into the losers bracket.

I cannot offer a cash prize as I am stripped for funds, however, if we could offer something like a prOxiteam t-shirt as first place prize?

I hope you would be interested, remember, I intend for it to be an Open tournament under prOxiteam's name so feel free to invite as many friends as you like. This will get us more fame =D.

Lol, this is not as easy as you think. Organising a tourny is a pretty full on experience

Tournaments fail pretty easily based on how other new tournaments go

I've hosted a couple Swiss style tournaments and they take... weeks... So this shouldn't be a problem for me. It's more of a relaxed tournament as you have awhile to complete your matches.

If you are willing to host it, I am perfectly fine with it. =).

ProHan this is kinda of BM, talking about having an epic tournament. But then you expect someone else to host it and sort it out for you? If you have this great idea you've gotta organize it bro :P

Did you read any of my post at all? I used first person the whole way through it which generally means I'm talking about myself... So of course I'm going to bloody host it....
I'm just going to host it under prOxi team's name so we get some fame. The only thing I needed help with was administrating the games as I cannot watch all of them...

I see nothing wrong with this type of thing but it's generally very difficult to pull off so I am always skeptical.

The bracket is coming along nicely now. There are just a minority of prOxi guys who I havn't yet asked.

I do ask that if you havn't yet made an account on challonge.com that you do so. This way you will get emailed as soon as your next match is ready to play. It's not crucial as I, and my helpers, can liaise. But it certainly makes things easier and lets you plan ahead.

Should get this started on Sunday, didn't want to start it before the Clan War.
