Already Blizzard seems to be getting their fingers dirty with some community interaction and some activity with the competitive scene. Incase some of you (I suspect most of you) don't visit Blizzard's new Battle.net website, please shift your attention to the upcoming StarCraft II Wings of Liberty Invitational Tournament. The tournament is of course Blizzard-run and starts September 2010 with selected invitees from the top echelons of the SEA Battle.net server rankings.

They are offering $3,000 US to the grand final winner. And further, they will invite first and second-place participants to BlizzCon this year.
If this isn't enough motivation to get your geek on and start racking up some serious ladder points, I'm not sure what is.
