Blizzard came out with some pretty good news in the wee-hours of yesterday morning.
We've all been aware of the server seggregation issues that have come with battle.net. If anyone should feel the drawback of this seggregation, it's Proxiteam. We have many Australian players on the SEA server and many American/Canadian players on the NA server.
We've also been aware that in Blizzard's effort to mitigate this issue, they have been planning to give SEA players access to the NA server so we can finally play with the good friends we've made on the old battle.net system. One concern however has been that SEA players will need to install two side-by-side copies of the game. One SEA-Localised version and another NA-Localised version.
Blizzard cleared this up, and it's great news. They are planning to implement the region-swapping functionality with an in-game interface. Whilst they don't mention anything about our accounts following over (i.e. will we lose all our achievements etc from the SEA server when we go to NA? My instinct says yes), it's great to know we won't have to download another 12GB to get access to the NA server.
I look forward to playing with our NA members soon.
