Hi Guys,

As some of you might know, I've set up a TeamSpeak server at voice.proxiteam.net to replace our previous Ventrillo server due to the restriction of Ventrillo's maximum of 8 users.

The TeamSpeak server allows 32 users, and in my opinion, is easier to use.

Current TeamSpeak details:
  • Version: 3 (you must download TeamSpeak version 3 to connect)
  • Address: voice.proxiteam.net
  • Port: 9987 (this is the defualt)
  • Password: none yet.
Question: Should we set up a password? The way it is at the moment, basically anyone who finds this thread can join the server freely. Do we want that? If not, we need to add a password, and I'd like recommendations on how that password might be disseminated among the members in a way hopefully not to arduous.

Yeah ts3 is pretty good i prefer it over vent. I don't think we need a password, you can always make a pass worded channel and then u can have a public one...

In my experience (mostly with mumble, but almost the same deal really) you want to have a password, just to prevent random trolls from joining and drowning the server in micspam. The password doesn't have to be secret at all, just list it openly in this thread.

Well the forums do have a PM system... Granted it may not be the most intuitive system, but still you could say something like "password sent to all member's inbox" and I think that'd get things straight.

Awesome Dwain. Thanks so much for getting this setup ^_^.

EDIT: Also from now on, whenever I'm on Starcraft, I'll be in the TeamSpeak server =).
