Wow, nice work taking out starhunter and tgun fight!! Don't get upset! You still achieved lots! And by the looks of it you definitely could've won the grand final seeing as you only lost 1-2. Next time!

What race was TargA btw?

unlucky fight, that sucks man. at least you know u could easily qualify next time though.

I have this problem i have discovered, when i go into a tournament, i play totally different to when i ladder or play with friends.

100% of the time, i either decide randomly to do a build ive never done before, or i get so scared of getting cheesed i shoot myself in the foot being too defensive and get rolled in mid to late game. Also i get nervous and skip heaps of scvs by accident :(

in my game last night, i wanted to do a 2 rax expand with quick ghosts tvp. i scouted his 4 gate, canceled my expo and bunkered, he then canceled his 4th gate, made a robo and expo'd. i was behind in macro and tech and got crushed in mid game.

most annoying thing is, my build is made to be able to hold a 4 gate anyway, so why wouldnt i just proceed with my plan. so stupid.

Yeah, the bottom bracket was stacked I think. Targa was actually the weakest player I had played since the Ro32. I also don't consider it an achievement to beat Starhunter and tgun unfortunately, since I've played against them in ladder tons of times and the games weren't even close. It's just disappointing to not make code S because I know I'm easily good enough to be in it. T.T

that's why I stopped 1v1ing, you can beat a hundred people, but lose 1 game and you feel like cutting yourself

I feel sorry for you. playing games in which you lose in is still tons of fun. However, playing games in which you play terribly and lose in feels bad. Because there's always the "what if?".

Failed cheese feels bad. I only have 1 cheese, 5 rax in TvT, cause my TvT is so bad lololol suprising how easily it gets counter. OH NOESSS 1 fucking bunker.... g.g.

I have the same problem as echoes when it comes to tournaments. I get shaky, play terribly and do stuff that I normally wouldn't do.

why is your TvT such a problem pioneer? If you want to drill some sometime, i would be happy to as i don't have a T practice partner. Trying to practice a lot off ladder while this whole locked/reset thing goes down.

I attribute my weakness in TvT to a number of reasons, primarily I don't use tanks in TvP or TvZ. Well I occasionally get tanks if I see a zerg going mass hydra roach, but I use them in a very situational context, very specific instances, and specific maps. Reasons are, I prefer to expand and macro, and tanks are kind of like a wall at the front, and they get exposed too often, which to me is a liability I don't want to deal with at this point. Second I have niche use of upgrades in the other match ups, that is to hit timing windows etc, so I often forget to get required upgrades. And basically I am impatient when it comes to tank wars, I prefer to just push when I feel I can win, and I generally screw that up.

Might start going an MVP style now like the old days, mass battlecruiser transitions ;)

i cant imagine playing tvz without tanks. i wouldnt even know how to secure my natural haha.

1rax no gas fast expo, bunkers are free if you forgot lolol. I do thor, hellion, marine mixes and keep on par with zerg expanding, then I'll throw in tanks later on if I am mega wealthy, and add medivacs and banshees for drops and harassment. TvZ is by far my best match up too, they don't seem to know what to do with baneling muta when it does fuck all damage to thors and gets countered pretty easy by spreading and positioning. The good players go broodlords and roaches, but then again I have enough rax to produce marauders if it goes to roach, and vikings if it goes to broodlords.

how did fight go in up and downs?
Australia Rostered Member for Proxiteam March 29 2011 22:56Posts: 1000
Yeah I am wondering this too. Whoever runs the SEASL does a fucking good job of making it impossible to discover this information.
