New to the scene

Hey everyone
I signed up to this site just then with intentions to eventually have a crack at joining the clan, but at the moment, I'm totally new to the clan scene. SC2 is the first game i've taken half seriously so this is really the first opportunity for me to try and change that.
With that in mind, I'm still not completely sure what being in a clan involves. Do we get together on a regular basis for some friendly matches/in-house tournaments? Or maybe even clan war on a regular basis? And how often do we go into public matches (such as clan wars or tournaments)?
I'm sure a lot of these questions can be answered if i hang around for a while, but at the moment, i'm completely in the dark. So it'd be much appreciated if someone could give me a simple outline of what goes around.
Also, i gather we play on NA? Is there a dedicated channel we use?

Hey mate - always good to see new faces.
We all gather on NA in channel: proxiteam (I play on SEA also, same channel). The purpose of the clan is to have a bunch of quality people to play all sorts of games with (1v1, team, custom, whatever) pretty much whenever you go online. There is also the competitive side to the clan where we have tournaments, leagues and very soon clan wars. Being part of a clan as you are trying to better yourself as a gamer is very helpful because you have other people to offer advice and direction when you're struggling, gauge and congratulate you on your progress and provide some rivalry thus determination to improve.
Proxiteam has been around since 2004 and is made up of not only great gamers but also great people. You will find many clans with skilled gamers but who's members lack quality (bad-mannered, cocky, etc). We're all here to have a good time, help each other out and yes be damn awesome at the game.

NapE couldn't have said it better. If you have ANY questions regarding the game, such as mechanics, build orders, strategies, or things that have to do with the game like clans, clan wars, how clan wars work, don't hesitate to post in the forums and ask or ask anyone that is online.
